Christmas 2012

I have been scarce for months and neglected my poor family's blog. I haven't really picked up the camera much in months either.  I am just not much for putting together a post if I dont have pics to go with it.

I charged the battery and took out the camera for Christmas.

The in-laws hosted Christmas celebrations this year.

We had a yummy Mexican dinner.
The older kids acted as our servers for the evening.
Uncle Tim was generous to his kind server. The kids then put together a short play about  what I would call contentment I guess. It was cute.

Then Christmas Eve it was out to Goodyear.

 Old school Suns blazer
Chris and Danni.  Beautifully sweet girl!
He doesn't like opening gifts in front of others.
Aunt Sherry looks happy with her gifts.
 Much needed.  They are awesome.

Got his favorite game ever!
Way too much food and goodies to get us through the night.
Good company and lots of laughs

Then next up was Christmas morning at our house.
I got emotional (of course) thinking about this possibly o this being our last Christmas here at this house.
We have spent the bulk of Kates years here.
Justin most fondly remembers the Mountain Vista house.
This will be the house Kate will remember most I think.
I will just have to work real hard to make the last few years they are home the best ever!

She is laughing because I wouldnt buy her more pants a few weeks ago because I told her I had already bought her some and they were in the closet at home. So she was like after you told me that I came straight home and looked at them...hmmmmm

 From Kate

 These are pretty cool.

 You asked for it.

Justin just wanted cash for gifts...  Boring...
Tim gave him a scavenger hunt on his phone with text to find clues to hidden cash.

This one was in the back of a walkie talkie.

 Waiting for a clue.

It was lots of fun.We may make that something we do every year.

The family gift the kids chose this year was a waffle make!  They have put it to good use already!
It was a wonderful time.  My favorite part was our Christmas Eve service.
I love hearing of all the good deeds happening in our community as a result of our church coming together to reach this valley for Christ!

Friday

Tim has been home for two days.
He is grilling right now.
I have a hot cup of coffee sitting here.
Need to update my blog.
Kate is at a sleepover.
Tim got a massage today.
We finished our paperwork for financing today. They warned us this is only the beginning...  Insert {fear}
We have already visited our new neighbors.
They are members at Tim's work and invited us over to see their landscaping.
They spent $15,000 on desert landscaping...
How do you do that exactly...???
They said we will love it there.
They have been there a year and a half...
Can you tell we are excited for our new house?
We are!!!!!!!
Hopefully the market continues to climb.
That would be awesome.
Justin's custom Vans came today.
It only took 7 weeks!

I worked 4 days last week.  Ran into a desk a few times.  No comments!

Isn't he adorable!
Found this in my husbands wallet!  I asked if it was about me...  He said "Yep!"
I bought a Kindle Fire with my allowance.  I {heart} it so much!

I am thinking I am going to change my decorating style in the new place to Farmhouse Chic!
Diggin' all the white!
This was a Nice quiet week.
Lunch with my Aunt.
Going out with cousins this coming week for our monthly lunch date.
We reconnected after a funeral and decided we would turn our yearly lunch dates into monthly ones.
I need to do coffee with my 5  S's.
Have an awesome weekend!

The hunt is OVER!

We have been searching for a new home for about 6 months now or since we discovered the market turned around some.  We knew what we wanted in a house, it was just a matter of finding it.  We tried to find everything on our list in a one level home, but just couldn't do it.

We have been looking at the same house for about 3 months.  It was perfect, except for the fact that it didn't have a room for the kids to hang out when friends are over.  We have been tossing around ideas of how we could make the 5th bedroom of that home work as a teen room...  In the meantime we kept looking.

I was pretty much against another two story home.  Tim was on the fence.  We started looking at two story home a couple of weeks ago.  That gave us so many more options!

Yesterday we went back to some homes I looked at 3 months ago with our Realtor.  We knew the second we walked in this was IT!  I had walked through this particular home 3 months prior with our Realtor as she was previewing it for another client, but because we weren't entertaining the idea of a two story I didn't really pay much attention to it.

It is for sure more house than I ever intended to have.  I want rooms full of digital editing guys and giggling girls to fill it with!  It is going to be perfect!
