Christmas 2013

Indeed it has been awhile! Looking to keep current on my blog for 2014... Christmas morning was peaceful and calm.  The kids are older and seems to move at a slower pace wanting our traditional cinnamon roll breakfast to start our morning!  Big puffy, gooey, cinnamon goodness is the perfect way to start!  Get our traditional Christmas music going, open doors and windows (we are in Arizona...) and we are set to sit around the tree...

Justin and Kate are such grateful kids. Tim and I are thankful for that.

Day 7 Far Away  Oh goodness do I miss my girl!

Day 8 Outdoors We still have dirt... :( Really hoping to have some blue waters in this space                                                                                            someday.
Day 9 Favorite Room  By far my favorite room in the house. I love to prepare meals with Kate or have the company at the bar stools telling me about their day!
Day 10 Entertainment  We watch this quite a bit. A family favorite. Especially the Twist and Shout scene.

Day 11 Where I stand This is where I spend a fair amount of my time.
Day 12 Paper Awesome new book I had on hold and picked up today at the library!
Day 13 Corner The corner of the Shower curtain I need to complete for the kids bath.

to save a life

After many years trying to get a Doctor to agree to a hysterectomy, I was finally able to find a sweet doctor that could see I needed to do it to save my life. (It may be that I am the 4-0 that helped too.)

the fear of  getting ovarian cancer that consumed me is indescribable.

I thought so many times when I looked into the eyes of my husband and children "I don't want to leave you."

Tim and I would discuss a diagnosis as a strong possibility each year when I would have my ultrasound.

The slightest pain in my abdomen, late period, lack of appetite, unusual bloating, would have me convinced   my next appointment would reveal cancer.

The burden of the prospect of a diagnosis is gone!

My family and friends have been so supportive during it all.

God's blessings have not been surprising in it all.
